Just $15 per month will provide food assistance for a family of four. You can also designate funds for our annual Great Turkey Giveaway event, where we provide 500+ turkeys with all the trimmings to families on the Saturday before Christmas.

A Good Investment
- The Shepherd’s Market supplies food to 400 families per month.
- On average, each household takes home 50 pounds of food, and the pantry distributes 20,000 pounds of food per month.
- In addition to our Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank allotment, it will take a minimum of $100,000 to purchase the necessary supplemental food that keeps the pantry well-stocked for each family.
- The Shepherd’s Market is 100% volunteer-run, meaning that every donated dollar is spent directly on food and household items for the families in need.
The Shepherd’s Market is the largest project of Opening Doors, a Louisiana Nonprofit Corporation. Opening Doors is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, and all donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
